Unit Overview

Welcome to the third unit!

Before diving into vocabulary, we need to tackle inflection in a fairly substancial way. While it may seem overwhelming at first, mastering it will make learning vocabulary in later lessons much easier.

Instead of memorizing isolated words, you'll recognize patterns that help you understand and use new words effectively. Think of inflection as the scaffolding that holds up the language. Without it, vocabulary is just a pile of disconnected words. But once you get comfortable with inflection, you’ll be able to actively use the words you learn rather than just recognizing them in isolation. So while this unit and the next may be challenging, they are an essential steps toward fluency.
