Welcome to Icelandic For Beginners!

Thank you for choosing my course to guide you on your language-learning journey!

My connection to Icelandic started in childhood. My grandmother, a native Icelander, immigrated to the U.S. with my family. While I didn’t learn the language back then, I remember hearing Icelandic when my grandparents wanted private conversations. Over time, I became frustrated with using Google Translate to understand Facebook posts from relatives in Iceland. After visiting Iceland, I committed to learning the language and have been studying it for years.

Despite my motivation, I struggled to find good resources. The books and online courses I tried didn’t meet my needs or made learning more difficult than it should have been. To save you the same frustration, I created this course, and I hope you find it helpful!

I’d like to thank everyone who helped make this course possible. Without their support, it wouldn’t exist or be as good as it is. All mistakes that remain are entirely my own.
